Halloween weekend :D
November 4, 2008Well then, halloween weekend has passed and it was a lot of fun!
Friday evening we met at “Swedish Heaven” (Hannah & Sophie’s apartment) for a halloween party. I was the first one to get there around 6.30 p.m. and the 2 Swedish girls and I started off with having some punch. I dressed up as some sort of ancient warrior with a red cape and leg & arm guards and a spear carrying the Austrian flag
By and by the others were dropping in and we went on with doing some drinking games and having some snacks. It was a European round again, with Swedish, German, Irish and Austrian participation. After some time we ended up playing truth or dare and had a lot of fun doing various tasks, such as Stephanie and me dancing Waltz and Marc making a proposal to his girlfriend. He also won some sort of lanyard for the evenings’ best costume (being dressed up as pumpkin).
The further plan for the evening at first was to go downtown to one of the clubs, but as they were sold out anyway we decided to take a cab to “the Ranch”. This basically was some private house a bit outside of Kamloops and when we got there I almost did not believe my own eyes: it was just unreal, like in one of those sappy Hollywood teen movies, where all the people just crush into a house and make party. There was people everywhere in- and outside the house and drinks everywhere. The living room was turned into a dancefloor and was totally crowded.
We partied there for quite a time and I can’t remember when it actually was, when Stephanie, Sophie, Brent & I tried to catch a cab for going home. As the cab left without us we decided to walk home, which was quite a distance, but fortunately after ’bout 20 minutes of walking another cab stopped and took us home.
I used both, Saturday and Sunday for having a good sleep and changing clocks on Sunday helped for one hour more. In the evening I met with the 2 Stephanies (my dear collegue from Salzburg
and Stephanie K. from Germany) for the story telling assignment of our “community and cultural issues in tourism”-class, where we narrated the fairytale of Hansel and Gretel
during Monday’s class (we also got the results of our mid-terms – with 77 % it’s quite solid I guess). Today’s classes weren’t that much exciting, except getting back the mid-term in conference management (97 %
– for sure my favourite class).
I again have an invitation for a birthday party in 2 weeks, when Anita is celebrating her 25th! So the date for the next party is set
All of you at home feel hugged and be blessed,
Gergi
